What is Debt Counselling?
It is a debt relief measure for over-indebted consumers. A process that assist the over-indebted consumers by negotiating reduced payments with credit providers through debt restructuring. IT IS NOT A SAVINGS PLAN! But can give you relief whilst over-indebted.

What is Over-Indebtedness?
- It is when a consumer is struggling to meet his/her monthly payment obligations
- You pay debt with debt
- You use your credit card and overdraft facilities to pay debts, buy food and other necessities
- You skip payments on some accounts in order to pay others
- You receive letters of demand and summons from credit providers and/or lawyers
- You have judgements granted against you

A Debt Counsellor registered with the National Credit Regulator.

How do I confirm that the Debt Counsellor is registered?
Each Debt Counsellor has a registration certificated issued by the NCR. You can also verify by visiting the NCR website where all registered Debt Counsellors are published.

What are the benefits of being under Debt Review?
There are many benefits including reduced monthly payments as well as protection against repossession of assets.

Will I be able to get credit whilst under Debt Review?
No, you will not be able to get credit whilst under Debt Review. This is not entirely a bad thing, because this process is rehabilitating you to be in a better financial position in future.

Will I be able to get credit after the Debit Review Process?
Yes, your Debt Counsellor will obtain a Clearance Certificate. All credit bureax will be updated and you are good to get more credit.

What happens with my Debt Counsellor after finalizing the debt repayment plan?
Your Debt Counsellor will be there, monitoring all payments and providing you with After Care Services.
